My Thoughts:
After reading N.S. Ford’s first book We Watch You for a previous tour I was excited to pick this one up and it didn’t disappoint.
They Lie Here is a well-written book with two multilayered storylines that come together nicely to form a gripping plot that will keep you wanting to know more. The pacing was a little slow to start but soon picked up.
There are plenty of clever twists and although I managed to work out some, some I didn’t see coming thanks to the hidden red herrings. The story is told through a mixture of first and third-person narrative, and although sometimes I find this to be a little difficult to follow, I thought this worked great.
I enjoyed following the complex characters. There isn’t a huge cast of characters but I found the small cast worked well as I didn’t have to keep track of them all. They are well-developed and liked finding out more about them slowly throughout the book.
Overall a great read and I can’t wait to read more from N.S. Ford!!
