My Thoughts:

We Watch You is the story that follow four friends, Lauren, Jessica (Jess), Claire, and Tina. However, their friendship with Tina has fallen apart after something that has happened in the past. But after the friendship break up Tina ends up going missing and no one knows where she is dead or alive. With Tina going missing Lauren believes it her fault and she takes it upon herself to find out what has happened to Tina. Just as she looks for clues sinister things start happening to the remainder of the friends.

This was a well written novel with plenty of twists to keep you turning those pages. I have to admit I did work out who was responsible for the bad things that were happening to the friends quite early on but this didn’t deter me from finishing the book.

Although this book is written in 1st person and is mainly told through Lauren’s character I really liked how the whole story is broken up with blog post entries and letters. This allows to get to know some of the characters a little better.

I thought the characters were well written and although I liked most of them there were a couple that I didn’t. The main reason for this was the way they treated my favourite character Lauren. Although they most of them are friendly towards her, it still felt like they treated her differently because of her autism. As I said Lauren was my favourite character and the main reason for this was she was the most realistically portrayed character in the whole book.

Now I really enjoyed this book but one thing I’m still undecided on is the ending. It was definitely a surprising ending and one that I never saw coming but I just can’t decide whether I liked it or not!! It’s really hard to explain without giving it away but to me it felt like it was left a little unfinished and left me wondering and hoping that there will be a follow up book.

Over all a great debut novel and can’t wait to see what else this indie author has in store for the readers next. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fast paced, twisty thriller.
