“A magical adventure to delight the imagination. A curl-up-on-the-sofa debut from a uniquely talented author.

Eleven year-old Tilly has lived above her grandparents’ bookshop ever since her mother disappeared shortly after she was born. Like the rest of her family, Tilly loves nothing more than to escape into the pages of her favourite stories.

One day Tilly realises that classic children’s characters are appearing in the shop through the magic of `book wandering’ – crossing over from the page into real life.

With the help of Anne of Green Gables and Alice in Wonderland. Tilly is determined to solve the mystery of what happened to her mother all those years ago, so she bravely steps into the unknown, unsure of what adventure lies ahead and what dangers she may face.”

My Thoughts & Review

We’re back with another adventure with Tilly and Oskar. This time we follow them as they book wander to clear up the mess that was caused by Chalk in the first book and we start to learn what will happen to book wanders and libraries. In this book Tilly and Oskar book wander into the fairy-tale books.

In this second book we get to learn a little more about the mysterious Oskar. Some of the questions I had about him after the reading the first book were answered in this one. We also learn more about Grandma and things start to make a little more sense.

While reading Tilly and the Lost Fairytales I was reminded of some of my favourite fairy tales that I read during my childhood, and now I want to go and read them all again. which I WILL BE DOING!!!!

Overall I liked this book but personal the first book is still my favourite. It felt more magical and exciting. This one just felt like there was something missing. Having said that I would  would still recommend this book and I’m still looking forward to reading the next instalment of this series.
