Synopsis/Blurb (Taken from Goodreads):
“Four people walked into the dining room that night. One would never leave.
Matthew: the perfect husband.
Titus: the perfect son.
Charlie: the perfect illusion.
Rachel: the perfect stranger.
Charlie didn’t want her at the book club. Matthew wouldn’t listen.
And that’s how Charlie finds himself slumped beside his husband’s body, their son sitting silently at the dinner table, while Rachel calls 999, the bloody knife still gripped in her hand.”

My Thoughts
So, after sitting on my TBR for several years I finally picked this one up and honestly I don’t know how I feel about this one. The plot had me gripped I liked the premises and setting but at the same time I found it to be slow. Yes it does pick up but not until the second half.
I liked the way the story is told with alternating narrators but wasn’t a fan of the multiple timelines. I also thought it was a little predictable I mean I was able to work out who did it but I didn’t quite work out the why.
I thought the characters were interesting but at the same time I couldn’t really relate to them or find them particularly likeable.
Overall not a bad read but as you can see from this review my thoughts are mixed on it. I do have several other books by this author on my TBR shelves so hopefully I’ll find one that I like!

My thoughts were very mixed about this one too. If it wasn’t for the ending, my review and rating would have been much different in a not good way. It’s the only book of Walter’s that I liked too. Strange story!

I agree the ending is what saved it!! I have a couple of others from Walter on my TBR so we shall see how I get on with those. Luckily I picked those up from the charity shop so didn’t pay very much for them!!
