WWW Wednesday – 7th December 2022

Welcome to this weeks WWW Wednesday!! I hope you’re all doing well and have had a great and safe week!!

My week hasn’t been very productive in terms of the things I wanted to get done as I wasn’t feeling great. I was put on some new painkillers, which worked great, but the side effects were pretty horrible. I have stopped taking now and am feeling much better. I do have an appointment with the doctor later today, so hopefully, she can give me something else that works minus the side effects.

On the plus side, I did manage to get quite a bit of read, so let’s dive right in!!

What is WWW Wednesday?

It’s a weekly meme that I first discovered on Roachies Reviews blog, and that is originally hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

All you have to do is answer 3 simple questions:

What are you currently reading?

What have you recently finished reading?

What do you plan to read next?

A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon – I couldn’t believe Bloomsbury was granted my wish for this book on NetGalley!! I started this one last week. I’m making slow but steady progress with this tome. I’m really liking it so far but at the same time I am so confused!! I don’t even know how to explain that!!

The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden – This is the second book in The Winternight Series. I’m hoping to finish the series by the end off the year. I have roughly 130 pages left. I’m really enjoying the series so far.

Yesterday I started Shackled Fates by Thilde Kold Holdt. I’ve wanted to pick this one up after reading the first book for a blog tour, but couldn’t fit it in at the time. I managed to pick up a physical copy from the library so I was able to pick it up much quicker than the eBook.

I’ve been worrking my way through The Daevabad series, and finally finish The Empire of Gold by S. A. Chakraborty. I’ve enjoyed all books but think this was my favourite of the 3 books anyway!! I will be reading the fourth book but I’m currently waiting for my hold to come through at the library.

Another book I finished was Battle Of The Beast by Jack Meggitt-Phillips. This is the third book in The Beast and the Bethany series. It was another fun and quirkey read.

The next book I finished was Paper Targets: Art Can Be Murder by Steve Saroff. This was senttome by the author and althought it’s not something I would have necessarily picked up on my own, I ended up enjoying it very much!! Review is coming soon, so keep an eye out!!

I also finished I’ll Find You by Dan Clark. This is another boomthatwas sent to me by the author and I loved it!! Again review coming soon, so keep an eye out!!

The final book I finished was The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden. This is the first book in The Winternight Series. As I mentioned above, I’m hoping to finish the series by the end of the year. I wasn’t sure about this one at the start but ended up enjoying it.

The next book I’ll be picking up will be The Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden. This is the last book in The Winternight series and the last one on my series to complete by the end of 2022 challenge!

Do let me know below what you’re currently reading, finished reading or planning to read next?  and don’t forget to leave links to your WWW Wednesday below if you have one!!

Happy reading till the next reading update!!

    • Thanks, Leslie! The doctor has given me a lower dosage to try out for a week. I took the first tablet last night, don’t have high hopes for them working as it didn’t do much last night. ☹️

I loved the whole Daevabad Series and totally agree on the great ending!

      • Thanks, Leslie!! Yes, it is very frustrating, even more so when it’s a nightmare getting appointments. I did manage to speak to another doctor yesterday who said it’s safe for me to top up with my day meds until I speak to my assigned doctor sometime next week.
