My Thoughts

Run Time is a psychological thriller that follows actress Adele who has been casted to star in a new horror movie back in her home country, Ireland. While filming weird things start to happen and Adele doesn’t know what’s going on. She’s not if things are really happening or whether she is just imagining things!!

The story is told through Adele’s eyes, which worked well, however, didn’t help with the struggles I had with the plot. The plot itself sounded interesting but it turned out to be slow and things just took too long to happen, in turn making some parts of the plot very predictable.

I wasn’t a fan of most of the characters. I found them to by quite one dimensional. The only character I did end up liking was Adele. Her character is the only one that felt realistic.

I thought that the ending would change my feelings towards the book but to be honest it was disappointing. It felt chaotic and felt like the author wasn’t quite sure how to end it.

Overall not a bad read, but a little underwhelming compared to the previous books I read, and also my least favourite so far. But I’m definitely not put off by reading more from this author.
