(if you would like to know more about the books just click on the book images and you’ll be taken to their Goodreads page.)

The Interview by C.M. Ewan πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

I’d been hearing great things about this book and now I don’t know what to think.

The first half of the book started well and was gripping and fast-paced. however, by the second half things started to slow down and the plot started to feel unrealistic and a little boring. I found the characters to be interesting at the beginning and thought they would continue to develop as the book progressed but unfortunately by the end I felt the characters were rather one-dimensional and end up not liking any of them.

Overall not a bad read, and it hasn’t deterred me from trying other books by this author in the future.

LEMON by Kwon Yeo-SunπŸ’™πŸ’™

I had heard some great things about this book, but for me, it just didn’t work out too well.

The story is told from several character points of view and at times it was difficult to tell who the narrator is. The plot felt like too much work for me, it felt like I almost had to turn into a detective myself to work out what was going on.

Another thing that I was a little confused about was that the story is meant to be set in Korea however, some of the language used suggested it was set more in the UK/America, especially at the beginning.

I can see why so many people have loved this book, but for me, it was just a little underwhelming and slow.

In My Dreams I Hold A Knife by Ashley πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

After hearing great things about this book, I couldn’t wait to pick it up. But now I’ve read it I’m kind of disappointed. I found the storyline to be a bit too drawn out and predictable. As for the characters well I thought they lacked depth and by the end of the book they just ended up being annoying and unreliable.

Overall not a bad read but not as good as I was expecting.

HIDE by Nell PattisonπŸ’™πŸ’™

After being drawn to this book by the front cover and the description of the premises I really could wait to dive in. Sadly this one didn’t meet any expectations I had, it just fell flat in all aspects. The book started well but after the first incident, everything just went downhill. The plot was slow and the story dragged on. I couldn’t relate to any of the characters and they were all pretty unlikeable.

The storyline was just too far-fetched and quite a lot of things in the book just didn’t make sense.

Sadly this book just didn’t work for me.
