My Thoughts

I was lucky enough read this sequel straight after finishing the first book in the trilogy and really enjoyed it. Elodie Harper has done a great job in continuing the world building of ancient Pompeii as well as keeping Amara’s story interesting with the new struggles that Amara faces after becoming a free woman.

I found the character development really interesting and was really well done. In this book Amara character becomes much more of a darker character and makes quite a few questionable choices, although you can understand why she makes them, they aren’t necessarily the right ones.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book but think I did prefer The Wolf Den more, but I definitely can’t wait to read the final book in the trilogy, I really hope Amara gets her happy ending and that we don’t have to wait long to find out.
