WWW Wednesday – 22nd September 2021

Happy Wednesday Folks!!

Welcome to this my WWW Wednesday!!

The last time I did one of these was back in July. Since then I have read quite a few books!! But I won’t be mentioning them all in this post. In this post I will only mentioning the books I’ve been working my way through since the beginning of September. You can check out what I read over my summer break here if you want!

So without further ado lets get into this weeks post!!!

What is WWW Wednesday?

It’s a weekly meme that I first discovered on Roachies Reviews blog, and that is originally hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

All you have to do is answer 3 simple questions:

What are you currently reading?

What have you recently finished reading?

What do you plan to read next?

The Jigsaw Man by Nadine Matheson – I’ve heard great things about this book, and on Friday I finally managed to pick up my copy from the library. I only started this one over the weekend and I’m not very far into it, but from what I’ve read so far I think this is going to be a great read!!

Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell – There’s been a lot of hype around this one and so many people have recommended it to me so I thought it’s about time I checked out why everyone is falling in love with this one. I’m almost at the halfway point and although I’m liking what I’ve read so far, but I’m yet to be blown away by. I do still have the second half of the book to finish so it might still turn out to be a stunning read, at the moment it’s looking like a 3 star read.

Femlandia by Christina Dalcher – This is a NetGalley eARC that I picked up last week. I’m not very far into this one as I’ve had to put it aside to fit in some library books. I’ve enjoyed previous books by this author so looking forward to this one.

The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty – I’ve wanted to read this forever, but I’ve finally managed to get it around to picking it up. I’ve not been able to pick this one up as much as I’ve wanted to but I am making steady progress and am loving it so far!!

The Stand by Stephen King – I finally finished this one!!! Took me nearly 2 months but it was well worth it, I absolutely loved it!! I can definitely see why so many people have loved this book!!

Elevator Pitch by Linwood Barclay – This is another library book that took forever to arrive at my local library!! I was intrigued by the description and couldn’t wait to pick it up. This started off good but by the end I was a little disappointed as I felt it didn’t quite meet the standards of his other books. There were also moments where I struggled with keep up with everything that was happening as there was just so much going on.

Punching The Air by Ibi Zoboi & Yusef Salaam – I knew nothing about this book going in but I have to say it wasn’t a bad read. I actually ended up listening to the audiobook which I highly recommend.

The Whisper Man by Alex North – Oh, this is another book that’s been waiting to be read on my TBR shelves, but I finally got around to picking it and flew through it. Absolutely loved this thriller.

Bald Is Beautiful by Carola Schmidt – I read this one for an upcoming blog tour with Blackberry Book Tours. It’s such a cute little book that teaches about courage and being brave, and is aimed at little girls. I won’t go into too much detail here but you can read more about it at the end of the month when it’s my stop.

Piranesi by Susanna Clarke – I’ve wanted to read this one for a while, but a long waiting list at the local library means I only just got around to it. I have to be honest I wasn’t too sure about this one. I mean I didn’t hate it but at the same time I wasn’t blown away by it like so many fellow readers.

The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna – I’ve wanted to read this one for ages but I finally picked it up at the end on August and I absolutely loved it!!! I flew through it!! Can’t wait for the next one in the series!!

Honestly I have no idea, I have a few review requests that I really need to get to but also have a few library books to read so I will have to see which I feel in the mood for.
