WWW Wednesday – 7th April 2021

Happy Wednesday Folks!!

Hope you’ve all had a great week!!

I’ve had tiring week since last weeks post. I wish it was from doing something exciting but sadly it wasn’t. I’ve had another pain flare up which means I’m back on an assortment of painkillers. They are definitely working their magic but sadly make me so drowsy that I haven’t been able to do as much as I planned which sucks!!!

But on a positive I did some how manage to all the books I was reading last week!!

So, let’s get into this weeks reading update!!!

What is WWW Wednesday?

It’s a weekly meme that I first discovered on Roachies Reviews blog, and that is originally hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

All you have to do is answer 3 simple questions:

What are you currently reading?

What have you recently finished reading?

What do you plan to read next?

Ready Player Two by Ernest Cline – My audiobook hold from the library finally came through on BorrowBox. This is another book I’ve heard mixed things about. I’ve only listened to about an hour so far, which I don’t really think is long enough to form an opinion but I’m really hoping this will be a good one, especially as I really enjoyed the first book Ready Player One.

An Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena – I’ve heard so many mixed things about this book. I’ve only read 20 odd pages so far so haven’t formed many thoughts as yet. I have read a couple of books by this author before I really enjoyed The Couple Nextdoor but wasn’t a fan of A Stranger In The House, so we shall see how I get on with this one.

Things To Do Before The End Of The World by Emily Barr – This is another book I’m reading for a blog tour organised by Dave @The_WriteReads. I may have signed up to way to many tours but so far I’ve enjoyed nearly all the books I’ve read for the tours. This one seems to be going in the right direction so far but I’m only 21% in so far, fingers crossed it continues in the right direction.

The Funny Thing About Norman Foreman by Julietta Henderson – A review copy was sent to me through LoveReading UK. I’m liking what I’ve read so far but just haven’t been able to pick it up as much as I wanted to. I’m about 120 pages in so far. I’m hoping to finish it by the weekend as when I do pick it up I fly through quite a few chapters at a time.

The Autobiography of Malcolm X – I finished this one over the weekend. I ended up listening to the whole book on audiobook as I struggled to read the physical copy that my friend lent me. I tried to read along while listening to the audiobook, but just couldn’t concentrate on the pages as the font was just way to small. I have very mixed feelings about this book. There were some really interesting things in this one but at the same time a lot of stuff I didn’t agree on.

Kate In Waiting by Becky Albertalli – Ok, this is another book I finished for an up coming upcoming Blog Tour organised by Dave @The_WriteReads. I’m not too sure how I feel about this one. But hopefully I will be able to get my thoughts straight and written down into some sort of review by 2nd May as this is when my stop on the tour is.

What Beauty There Is by Cory Anderson – Finally finished this one!!! I’m currently working on my review but you can find out my thoughts on the book on Saturday 10th April 2021.

As I mentioned in previous posts this one is for a blog tour organised by Dave @The_WriteReads

Ok, Blood Sisters by Jane Corry is going back on as my next read, as I didn’t pick it up.

  3. There’s a ‘Ready Player Two’?! Not sure how I’ve missed this one – I look forward to hearing how you get on with it.
Can I ask how blog tours work? I’m relatively new to this and have read about them on other blogs but not really grasped what happens with them. Is it like an online book club? Do you all read the book at the same time? Sorry, that’s a lot of questions!
Have a great week in reading!

    • Ready Player Two came out November 2020, but my audiobook hold only just came through!!

Blog tours are pretty simple to take part in. You sign up for a tour that interests you and you will be provided the book either in physical form or eBooks. Ebooks are either sent to you directly by email or are sent a NetGalley widget. Then you read and post a review along with details about the book and author on your blog on an date that is allocated to you by the blog tour organiser. Hope this helps, feel free to get in touch with any more questions will try to answer them as best as I can!

Hope you have a great reading week too!!
