My Thoughts & Review
Oh, my what a great thriller this was. The plot had me gripped from start to finish. I absolutely loved the concept of this book. Driverless cars going out of control to prove a point!!
The passengers is really well written, it’s simple and easy to follow yet at the same time so intense and unsettling, just the way I like my thrillers. I liked how Marrs uses references to ‘The One’ one of his previous books. I’m so glad that for once I’ve read the book mentioned.
Now although I loved the whole book I feel the characters have stopped my from giving it a 5 star rating. Don’t get me wrong they were really well written and developed as the book progressed but I feel we didn’t quite get to know them enough. Yes, we learn quite a bit about them nearer to the end, but personally I would have liked to get to know them a bit earlier. Also, some of the characters did start to get a little annoying but I get the feeling that was Marrs intention.
I’m not going to go into too much detail about this book as it one of those reads that you need to go into without knowing too much.
This was a great read, and can’t believe I didn’t pick it up sooner. A definite must read for thriller fans.

I loved this novel and I get what you are saying but I don’t think you can really give fully fleshed characters with a lot of background in this one because you would have to give all 8 the same amount of detail… it didn’t really bother me in this novel (it did bother me in another novel I recently read though so same feelings, different novel). Great review!

I read One by One by Ruth Ware and I didn’t really learn much about the character’s pasts or personalities (there were also many), except for the one of Erin, whose POV we get in the novel.

Oh that’s on my TBR list. Was hoping the libraries would be open by now so I could request a copy but all the local ones are still closed 😔 so waiting for the audiobook/ebook to become available on one of the library apps.

I hope they open soon! The libraries stayed open here in the second lockdown, but we don’t have many English books so I’m not even in a library… I requested it on Netgalley, maybe it’s still available and worth a chance… I hope you like it when you read it and don’t know who it is too soon 😉😘
