My Thoughts & Review
I had high hopes for this one after reading The Possessions last year. It sound really exciting. One of the reasons I picked it up was because I didn’t realise that it’s part of a series and I read it out of sequence.
The first few chapters of this book were really good and had me hooked, but then things started to go downhill and I started to struggle to keep my focus on what was happening. The descriptions became repetitive especially in the caves and the characters stated to become really annoying especially the main one.
This may be part of a series but honestly so far I have found that both book one and two can be read as standalones.
I’m so glad I listened to the audiobook as I honestly think if I had picked up a physical copy in all likelihood it would have probably been DNFed.
