My Thoughts & Review

This is the last book in my Dan Brown collection that had been sitting on my TBR shelves collecting dust. Last year I picked the title out of my TBR jar for the TBR Challenge but I never picked it up so I added it back onto this year’s challenge and I finally managed to read it and move it to my read shelves and it’s now sitting nicely with the my other Dan Brown books. 

Origin follows Robert Langdon on another trip to discover the truth about the Origin. This time Langdon’s adventures are in Spain. Although this one felt a little similar to previous storylines, at the same time it was more scientific. 

Dan Brown has done a great job once again in describing the scenery and providing detailed informative descriptions. Yes, at time there were moments where I found the book to be a little bit too philosophical. This is where I found the book to become  a little slow and boring but I managed to push pass these bits and ended up liking what I read. 

Every time I read a book in the Langdon series I’ve always had a love hate relationship with Langdon’s character, and it was no different in this book. Sometimes I feel like Langdon character frustrating especially when he gets himself into situations that you know he could have avoided. And then on the other hand I also feel sorry for him as he seems to find himself sucked into conspiracies. 

Origin was a good read but my favourite will always be The Da Vinci Code. Doesn’t what anyone says. I know Dan Brown books aren’t for everyone and there are haters of his work out there, but I like them and I would recommend them especially the earlier one.
