My Thoughts & Review

So, after putting off reading Caraval, I finally picked it up in April and posted my review in June. After posting my review I went on to read this book. As I wasn’t blown away by Caraval, I didn’t set my expectations too high for this one.

I liked this book a little better than Caraval. It felt faster paced and the story felt more interesting, but at the same time I felt it was sort of a retelling of the first book but in s slightly different way. The narrative started off fun, but fell a bit flat in the middle for me. It did pick up by the end and was excited to see how it ended but I was left disappointed.

Sadly, for me this was just a “Meh” kind of read. Once again I wasn’t blown away by this one but I will be reading the final book, just to see how it all ends and also because one of my goals is to finish the whole series this year.
