WWW Wednesday – 13th May 2020

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!!

So, this week I’ve definitely not been up to much apart from binge watching Netflix and reading in the garden, except for the last few days as it’s been very windy here.  I did some more baking last night, I made a lovely pear and raisin crumble, which went down a treat.

Anyway lets get into this weeks WWW Wednesday!!!

What is WWW Wednesday?

It’s a weekly meme that I first discovered on Roachies Reviews blog, and that is originally hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

All you have to do is answer 3 simple questions:

What are you currently reading?

What have you recently finished reading?

What do you plan to read next?

So, without further ado here’s my WWW Wednesday for this week.

Currently Reading

Last Man In Tower by Arvin Adiga – I swear I borrowed this book from the library many years ago  and read it, some of what I’ve read so far sounds familiar, but I just can’t remember if I’m imagining it or not.

Doctor Sleep by Stephen King – This one has been waiting way too long to be read. I do love a good Stephen King book, I know some of his books are a hit or miss but I’m loving this one so far.

Les Misérables by Victor Hugo – Another great weekend reading this I’m now over half way and still loving this book. I’m now at page 705/1232. I’m going to aim and finish this book by the end of the month.

Recently Finished

The Sisters Brothers by Patrick DeWitt – A friend lent me a copy of this book. I wasn’t sure about it when he gave me his copy but it turned out to be quite a good book.

The Optician’s Wife by Betsy Reavley – Ok, another audiobook based on the cover of the book. Wasn’t sure of it at the start but it got interesting and in the end it was worth the read.

Bird Box by Josh Malerman – Picked this up as part of a buddy read with my May TBR Twin on Goodreads. It was a good read but a little on the short side.

One Year Later by Sanjida Kay – It’s been a while but I actually managed to finish this eARC from NetGalley before it is published. It was an interesting read that I ended up liking.

Adèle by Leila Slimani – I’ve wanted to read this book ever since reading The Nanny but never got around to it. But then I discovered that an audiobook was available on my library app RB Digital. Definitely not what I was expecting. Sadly not a book I enjoyed very much.

Reading Next

I’m hoping to pick up  Glow: Book I, Potency by Aubrey Hadley an eARC from NetGalley.

Glow: Book 1, Potency

  1. Oh, did you finish all those books since last week? I could never bring myself to read anything by Victor Hugo but that doesn’t mean I’m not curious. What do you think of the characters and the setting so far?

    Liked by 1 person

    • Yes i finished 5 books since last week. A few of them where audiobooks and most of these books were quite short so got through them faster, some of them I had started the week before.

I’m loving the characters and the setting. There is so much more interesting detail in the book that I wasn’t expecting.
