My Thoughts & Review
The Cabin is a murder mystery where a group of teenage friends go to a cabin and lock themselves in for the weekend. After a few drinks and heading off to bed, they awake the next morning to discover two dead bodies.
The premises of this book is what drew me to the book. It sounded like it was going to be a fast paced suspense filled read with lots of plot twists and intense mystery, but sadly it fell a little short from this. The start of this book had me hooked and but sadly as I read on it lost momentum and by the end it just turned out to be an average read.
While listening to the audiobook, I felt like the book had problems with the flow of the plot. It felt like parts of the plot were missing and I did go back and re-listen to parts just to make sure I hadn’t missed anything, but turns out I hadn’t missed anything it was just how the book is written. There were some plot twists but I worked them out and new they were coming and I wasn’t a fan of the ending it was a little unrealistic.
Overall an ok-ish book that had so much potential to be a great read. There’s not really much more I can say about this one.
Would I recommend this book? Well that depends on who the person. If you’re looking for a quick YA type thriller than yes. But if you’re looking for a full on suspense murder mystery then this isn’t the book for you.
