The Moon Show by Carmen Gloria

The Moon Show

The Moon show is the third book in the Kids Astronomy series. This book is aimed at the younger readers and is an ideal book for any child aged 5 upwards. This book is full of simple but wonderful facts about the different planets and their moons in our solar system.

Although this is aimed at the younger readers, I definitely learnt some interesting facts myself, and the illustrations were amazing so simple yet so cheerful looking.

After reading this myself I then read it with my 5 year old nephew who has started to take an interest in all space. He actually sat through the whole book and at the end, we went through it again to see what he remembered.

After finishing our read together I asked him what he thought of the book and this was his answer:

β€œI liked this book lots, I liked the numbers about the moons. There are too many moons I didn’t know. I like Luna she is my favourite. Maybe you could buy it for Christmas.”

From this reaction this book was a definitely a big hit.

I would definitely recommend this book for the little space enthusiasts out there, and also the not so little ones as you will definitely learn some new facts.

Orrery by Annie Tucker

Orrcry is a wonderful story where we follow Amaroo on a journey to find his mother who left him with a Scottish cat called Tappy to look after because she feared it was too dangerous for him to stay with her.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this book at the start but I really got into the story and didn’t want it to end. Orrcry turned out to be very interesting and entertaining. There were some funny descriptions which will definitely keep the younger readers giggling. Although this book has an entertaining value it also covers important themes, such as grief and fear as well as leaving a subtle message of how love and hope is important.

Annie Tucker has done a wonderful job writing this book. You can really tell she has written it from deep down in her heart.

This book is primarily aimed at younger readers but I think it’s perfect for any ages young or old, there is a little bit for everyone to enjoy. Oh, and the cute illustrations in-between the pages, bring the book to life.

Overall a wonderful read. That I would happily recommend to anyone looking for a quick read with hidden messages waiting to be discovered.

I would like to thank LoveReading UK and Annie Tucker for my digital review copy in return for an honest and unbiased review.
