Questions from Just Me:
1: What attracts you to a book?
Usually the title and the synopsis. It used to be front covers, but I’ve quickly come to realise that some front covers may look good but they don’t really represent the book that has been written
2: What genres do you love to read about?
Horror, Crime and mystery/thrillers are my favourite but happy to give most genres ago, especially since I’ve started blogging.
3: Paperback or Kindle?
Although I love my Kindle and it goes with me almost everywhere I would have to say paperback. Nothing beats holding a paperback.
4: Describe your perfect reading spot?
Somewhere with lots of natural light, surrounded by books, sat in the comfyiest chair with a hot drink (I would say a cup of coffee but I’ve had to stop drinking it as I’ve discovered it what’s been making me physically sick the last few weeks). Oh and not to forget wearing my fluffy pj’s with a fluffy blankets at arms reach.
5: Your perfect company while reading?
I love reading around people or on my own. Most of the time I read while sitting with my family in the evening.
6: Your all-time favorite book character?
Oh, this one is really hard. The first character that came to mind was Harry Potter of course, but having thought about this question a bit more I think I’m going to choose Charlie Bucket from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl
7: What movie adaptation do you think was better than the book itself?
Ok, this is another difficult one. But I’m going to say Innalation. I didn’t like the book and I thought the movie was only slightly better than the book.
8: What do you think of classics?
There a bit of a hit and miss for me. I’ve read a few that I’ve really enjoyed but then there are some that I really struggled with.
9: A popular book you dislike.
The Testaments by Margaret Atwood. I read this recently and was really disappointed with this book and didn’t enjoy it at all. Yet, it’s had so many raving 5 star reviews.
10: What is your favorite book quote?
There are so many. I actually have a different favourite every time I find one in a book. It’s one of the reasons I started doing my Quotes of the week post every Sunday.
11: Recommend one book you want me to read.
Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. It’s one of my all time favourites and one of only a few I have re-read several times. It is a bit of a monster in size but worth reading every page.
My Questions for you:
1: If you could get an ARC of any one of your most anticipated releases, which would it be?
2: What is your least favorite book you have read this year?
3: What is a book or series that you feel is overrated?
4: What is a series you have been wanting to get into, but keep putting off?
5: What is a hyped book you have no interest in reading?
6: What is your favorite female and favorite male character?
7: It’s a dark and stormy winter’s night. What book would you curl up beside the fire to reread?
8: Do you like to keep your books in pristine condition or are you happy to write in them or dog ear them etc?
9: What’s your favorite time of the day to review the books you read?
10: Best bookstore you’ve visited?
