Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.”

My Thoughts & Review

Having read Cinder earlier this year and enjoying it I was really looking forward to reading Scarlet the second instalment of the Lunar Chronicles. I finally managed to get hold of the audiobook from BorrowBox after a very long wait.

I found Scarlet to be a quick and enjoyable read. I felt the writing in this book was much better than the first.

The characters were good and you could easily tell which ones were bases on the story of Little Red Riding Hood. I liked the character Scarlet, however I couldn’t really connect to her story. I don’t know why. I just felt there was something missing.

I think Cinder is still my favourite at the moment.

Overall a good quick read and I will definitely be continuing with the series. I don’t know when I’ll get around to reading the third book Cress, but I have put a hold on it and hopefully I won’t have to wait to long.
