My Thoughts & Review
This book continues from where the first one left off and while I was confused as to which century/world the first book was set in everything started to make a lot more sense.
Thinking back to the first book and then comparing this one, I personally thought Chain of Blood and Steel was the stronger and more enjoyable read, even though I enjoyed the first one. Chain of Blood and Steel just felt more compelling.
In this book we see many of the character’s from King and Country, but we are also introduced some new ones. In this book Mòrag’s character makes way for a new character Ava, who becomes the main protagonist in this book. I personally liked this changed. It made the story even more interesting. Karen has managed to do this change really well, as it doesn’t affect the way the story flows.
Although this book also started off a little slow at the beginning the pace picked up, and it was really hard to put down the book. I would have finished this book so much faster if I hadn’t been reading other books, that needed to be finished before this one.
By the time you have read this review I will hopefully have started or even finished the third book in the series. This series seems to be getting stronger with each book and can’t wait keep following the characters to see where they all end up.
If you’re looking for a good intriguing, character driven series then I highly recommend you give this one ago.
