WWW Wednesday – 28th August 2019

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!!

Welcome to another round of WWW Wednesday.

This weeks been another great week in terms of reading I managed to finish a few more books. Also my nephew is back from his holiday so we’ve been having lots of fun together. We’ve been having fun making birthday present lists as it’s his birthday in a week.

What is WWW Wednesday?

It’s a weekly meme that I first discovered on Roachies Reviews blog, and that is originally hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

All you have to do is answer 3 simple questions:

What are you currently reading?

What have you recently finished reading?

What do you plan to read next?

So, without further ado here’s my WWW Wednesday for this week.

What are you currently reading?

This week I have started several books.

The Focus Program

The Focus Program by K.T. Dady – I’m not very far into this one, but from what I’ve read so far this one looks like it’s going to be an interesting yet enjoyable read. Very different to what I’ve been reading recently.

Chains of Blood and Steel

Chains of Books & Steel by Karen Gray – This is the second book in the series, and I’m about 20% in. I don’t really have much more to say about this one as it’s a continuation of the first book. But, I will say it is a nice refreshing read compared to my other books. This was also sent to me by the author.

The Swords of Silence

I’m also still working my way through The Sword of Silence by Shaun Curry. I had planned to take this book with me to hospital appointments. But the very first appointment I took it to, I ended up being told I shouldn’t be reading books like this by another patient. The strangest thing was she didn’t even know what the book was about, she only saw the front cover. Anyway, after that encounter I’ve stuck to reading it at home. Just don’t need the hassle of getting into an argument with a total stranger. I’ve made some good progress with it over the bank holiday weekend and hoping to have it finished in the next few days.  So far a great read.

Oh, and I started listen to A Dance with Dragons: After the Feast by George R. R. Martin the final book in the Games of Thrones series.

What have you recently finished reading?

Malamander by Thomas Taylor – I downloaded an audiobook of this one, I fancied a change and thought I would try this one out. I kept seeing it at the bookshop and was drawn to it by the cover. This was a very quick read/listen and it was quite refreshing to read.

Spare Room by Dreda Say Mitchell – This was another audiobook that I downloaded from BorrowBox. I wasn’t entirely sure what it was about but had seen a few raving reviews for it so had to give it a try. It was a great psychological thriller.

The One Apart by Justine Avery – Wow this was a real page turner for me. I couldn’t put it down. It reminded me of the movie “Look Who’s Talking” and the book The Host by Stephanie Meyer. This was a really solid fantasy/paranormal read.

I also finally finished The Chestnut Man by Søren Sveistrup. OMG I can’t believe it took me so long to finish this book, especially as I enjoyed it so much.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I still have so many eARCS and review copies to read so I will be picking one of those up but haven’t quite decided which one to pick up as yet,
