It’s the eve of Rachel Chu’s wedding, and she should be over the moon. She has a flawless Asscher-cut diamond, a wedding dress she loves, and a fiancé willing to thwart his meddling relatives and give up one of the biggest fortunes in Asia in order to marry her. Still, Rachel mourns the fact that her birthfather, a man she never knew, won’t be there to walk her down the aisle.

Then a chance accident reveals his identity. Suddenly, Rachel is drawn into a dizzying world of Shanghai splendor, a world where people attend church in a penthouse, where exotic cars race down the boulevard, and where people aren’t just crazy rich … they’re China rich.

My Thoughts & Review

Ok so this is another audiobook that I picked up on a whim. I wasn’t actually planning to read this one yet but it was available to download it straight away from BorrowBox and I needed an audiobook to listen to for my travels.

I didn’t enjoy this book at all in fact I think the first one Crazy Rich Asian was better.

So, here’s what I didn’t like about it:

The Storyline started off really interesting and the opening scene was really good but then it all fell apart and I lost interest in the storyline all together. Nothing interesting really happened and it just dragged on and on for 400 pages.

I felt this book wasn’t as well written as the first one. It seemed to jump around a bit too much for my liking and as a result I felt it didn’t flow as well. Also, I got a bit confused when it kept jumping from character to character.

Now the characters seemed to be boring in this one. I was really expecting them to develop more and become more interesting but instead they seemed to be flat and boring.

Also, I thought the ending of this book was disappointing it really didn’t do anything for me and in all honesty I don’t think I’ll be reading the last book.

Oh I only gave this book a 1 heart rating because I liked the description of places.

This is not a book I would personally recommend.

My Rating
