Hi fellow Bibliophiles,
I’ve just realised that I haven’t done a book haul post since the April one. So, I decided to combine both my May and June book hauls together. In May I picked up a few more books from the local charity shop and in June most of the books were gifts from my wonderful family and friends for my birthday.
Without further a-do lets get into what books have been added to my TBR shelf. (Some of you may have seen some of these on my Instagram account)
Sofia Khan Is not Obliged by Ayisha Malik
This book was given to me by one of my favourite librarians, who said I could keep it as part of the City Read London. I actually had this book on my TBR list and was so excited when she gave me a copy of it. I didn’t manage to read it during the read but that’s nothing new lol.
The next set of books I picked up from my local charity shop. In total I picked up 7 after visiting the charity shop on two separate occasions. During my first visit I picked up
- Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat
- WONDER by R.J. Palacio
- All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
- The BFG by Roald Dahl (Chosen by my nephew)
I read Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat years ago, after borrowing it from my cousin. I absolutely loved it. I have now given it to my friend to read, and hope she enjoys it as much as I did.
During my second visit I picked up 3 more books. I picked up:
- Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
- The Power by Naomi Alderman
- Lord of the Flies by William Golding
I’ve previously read Frankenstein but I wanted a copy to add to my Classics shelf that I’m trying to build up.
The first book I got was White Oaks by Jill Hand. Jill actually sent me a copy of her book all the way from the US. I’m planning to read this one this month (As you’ve probably already seen from my July TBR.
The next 4 books were all gifted to me for my birthday.
The Doll Factory by Elizabeth Macneal was gifted to me by my Parents. It is a Waterstones Signed Edition. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah was gifted to me by my brother, nephew and Sister in Law.
My closest friend brought me Literary Yarns: Crochet Projects Inspired by Classic Books by Cindy Wang and the Penguin Cloth bound edition of Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
Along with the books mum and dad also brought me a book cart.
I also received some Perfume, Waterstones and Amazon gift vouchers. So more books hauls coming soon hopefully.
