WWW Wednesday – 5th June 2019

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!!

Welcome to another round of WWW Wednesday. I hope you’ve all had wonderful reading week.

I’ve had a okish reading week. It was half term last week, so didn’t manage to read much as my nephew was home. But on a positive we spent a lot of time outdoors playing, eating ice cream and enjoying the beautiful weather we’ve had here in the UK.

What is WWW Wednesday?

It’s a weekly meme that I first discovered on Roachies Reviews blog, and that is originally hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

All you have to do is answer 3 simple questions:

What are you currently reading?

What have you recently finished reading?

What do you plan to read next?

So, without further ado here’s my WWW Wednesday for this week.

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading 3 books.

The first one I started was Confessions by Rich Kisielewski. This ebook was sent to me by the author. I’d planned to read this book earlier in the year and before it came out but then I got ill and everything I had planned to read went out the window. But I’ve finally got around to picking it up. According to my Kindle I’m at 57%. So far I have mixed feelings.

The second book I’ve started is Becoming by Michelle Obama. I borrowed this book from my friend. I’m really enjoying this one, I am up to chapter 19 already. I should be finished with this read either tonight or tomorrow the latest.

The third book I started is The Buried Girl by Richard Montanari. This is one of my NetGalley eARCs that I am behind on. I’m only a few chapters in. I’m not entirely sure what’s happening in the book, at the moment as I haven’t got to the part where the title makes sense. Fingers crossed it won’t be a disappoint read.

What have you recently finished reading?

The first book I finished this week was Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. I originally picked up a copy of this book from the library but there was a hold on it so had to return it before I could finish it, so I ended up listening to it on audiobook. I had heard loads of great things about this book, but sadly all the hype didn’t live up to my expectations.

The second book I finished was One Minute Later by Susan Lewis. This was an eARC from NetGalley. This was a great read that I couldn’t put down whenever I got the chance to  picked it up.

Oh, and I also DNF’ED one book. That book was Prague Spring by Simone Mawer. I tried to read it for 3 days  but couldn’t actually get into it. Usually I like reading historical fiction but I just couldn’t get into this one. I found it too slow, and nothing much interesting happened in the first 30 odd pages. At first I felt guilty for not getting further or finishing it as this was our May read for book club, but then I looked at all the other books  waiting to be read.

What do you think you’ll read next?

For my next read I will be picking up A Flight of Broken Wings by Nupur Chowdhury.  This is another ebook that was sent to me by the author and one that has been waiting since the beginning of the year.
