WWW Wednesday – 6th March 2019

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!!

(I First saw this on Roachies Reviews blog, originally hosted by Taking on a World of Words)

This week I’ve been struggling with a lot of aches and pains and haven’t been able to do much physically but in terms of reading it’s been a brilliant week.

I’m also slowly but surely getting through my backlog of review books.

So, here’s my WWW Wednesday.

What are you currently reading?

This week I’ve started reading 3 new books.

The first one that I started was In the Dark by Cara Hunter. This is the 2nd book in the DI Flawley series.  I’m just over halfway and am really enjoying it. I’m really enjoying the series so far.

The second book I’ve started is The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. I think we will be seeing this on many blog posts in the book community in the coming weeks. I’m not very far into this monster of a book but so far it’s a big thumbs up from me. One of the reasons is I’m struggling to hold it while reading as I’m finding it quite heavy and my wrists end up hurting after a while, so I will be taking my sweet time.

The third book I started is A Very Large Expanse of Sea by There Mafi. I literally started this last night so haven’t read very much at all, as I fell asleep while reading it on my Kindle lol. I am reading this with my March TBR Twin from Goodreads.

What have you recently finished reading?

Since  last wednesday I managed to finish 5 books. The first one I finished was What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera. I wasn’t sure about this read when I started but by the end I really got into it and enjoyed it. You can read my full review here if you haven’t read it already.

The Second book I finished was our February book club read and that was Half Blood Blues by Esi Edugyan. This had the potential to be such a good book but I struggled with it big time. I found it so slow and couldn’t wait for it to be over with. I will be posting my review for this book after our book club meeting on 12th of March so keep an eye out for it.

The third book that I finished was Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott. This was another book that I really enjoyed. Before reading this book I already knew a little bit about CF but I learnt some new stuff as well.

The fourth book I finished was the Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs. This is the third book in the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar series if you didn’t already know. I listened to this one on audiobook.  I’m loving this series and can’t wait to read the final book.

The final book that I finished was The Shop on Peculiar Hill by Grimly Darkwood. This book was sent to me by the author. This book is a fantasy/magic children’s book. It was a very quick read for me, it’s just under 300 pages.  A very enjoyable read for all age groups.

As I managed to finish quite a few books this week I’m now behind on my reviews but not to worry I will have them up over the next few weeks so keep an eye out for them.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m planning to start  No Way Out by Cara Hunter. This is the 3rd book in the DI Fawley series. This is another eARC that I managed to get from NetGalley. I’m really enjoying this series.

  1. Library of Souls is my fave of the first series. I haven’t read Tales of the Peculiar (That’s the name? I forgot) or Map of Days which is the first in the “companion series”. And now I am intrigued by The Shop on Peculiar Hill.

  2. I applaud you for getting the hardback version of Priory, that book is an absolute unit. My friend text me the other day to say that that she’s getting the audiobook and she nearly fell off her chair when I told her it’s 26 hours!

    • Thanks lol. I knew it was big but didn’t realise it was sooo heavy, this was an online order. Next time I think I’ll go to a bookshop and check out how heavy the books are before buying them 😂
