Synopsis/Blurb (taken from Goodreads):

“Cassidy Blake’s parents are The Inspectres, a (somewhat inept) ghost-hunting team. But Cass herself can REALLY see ghosts. In fact, her best friend, Jacob, just happens to be one.

When The Inspectres head to ultra-haunted Edinburgh, Scotland, for their new TV show, Cass—and Jacob—come along. In Scotland, Cass is surrounded by ghosts, not all of them friendly. Then she meets Lara, a girl who can also see the dead. But Lara tells Cassidy that as an In-betweener, their job is to send ghosts permanently beyond the Veil. Cass isn’t sure about her new mission, but she does know the sinister Red Raven haunting the city doesn’t belong in her world. Cassidy’s powers will draw her into an epic fight that stretches through the worlds of the living and the dead, in order to save herself.

My Thoughts & Review

This was my very first Victoria Schwab book. I’d heard so many good things about her writing and books and couldn’t wait to read her books.

After reading this book I can now see why a lot of people love her books.

Even though this book is aimed at a middle grade audience, I have to admit I really enjoyed it. It made a nice change to reading the heavy adult themed books. It also gave me a chance to chill and relax while listening to it on audiobook, it didn’t require a great deal of attention and it was also an ideal quick read while I was away.

It had me interested from the beginning. I thought Victoria Schwab has done a wonderful job with the storytelling and characters. I found the characters loveable and interesting and kept me hooked till the end.

I won’t ramble on about this book too much as I know most of you have probably already read it.

I can’t wait to read more books from Victoria Schwab.
