A little about my blog
I started my blog Mani’s Book Corner in July 2018. I started it as I wanted to share my reviews and thoughts with fellow book lovers, and also because I’ve always wanted to start a blog, but never really had the time or courage to start one, until now that is. When I started my blog I was so nervous and thought I was doing everything wrong but the blogging Community has been absolutely wonderful and have welcomed me with open arms.
Since starting my blog I have met some wonderful bloggers and made some new book loving friends. I have also discovered some great new books, which I probably would have never read if I hadn’t started blogging.
My advice to new bloggers:
There is no right or wrong way. Write and post about things that interest you, and write the way you feel comfortable. I know when I first started my blog in July 2018 I used to see post by other’s and think wow their blog looks so much better than mine. but as I continued to post more and more I found my own preferences and ways of doing things, and so will you.
Make sure you have Fun blogging! If you’re not having fun writing your posts then take a break and try something else and come back to it at a later time. The worst thing you can do is decide to do a post and then stress out over it. I’m .talking from experience. I started doing this the first couple months and then decided I would just go with the flow and now I absolute love working on my posts.
Engage with your followers. The more you engage with the community the better. Try to follow your bloggers on social media. Feel free to ask questions, answer questions and just try and get involved as much as possible. I still struggle with this, especially when it comes to social media but I’m planning to set aside some time each day where I can sit down, read and interact with the blogging community more. Also try leaving comments on posts by other bloggers. I’ve found all the bloggers I interact with to be very friendly and supportive.
Be patient. Things take time, but when everything falls into place it all becomes worth it. Also, be patient with publishers, you don’t always get replies, or the ARCs you’ve request, but sometimes you end up with book mail that you weren’t even expecting. Also, don’t keep looking at stats and the number of followers, they will increase in time.
Finally, Don’t give up. Sometimes you feel like nothing is going right or no one is reading your posts but they are. You will always have good post days and bad ones. From what I have seen even the bloggers who have been doing this for a while and with thousands of followers all have good and bad post days.
MOST IMPORTANTLY ENJOY YOURSELVES!!!
