I was tagged for this Thanksgiving Book Tag by Amanda over at Devouring Books Devouring Books If you haven’t read or followed her blog then don’t forget to pop on over and take a look.
BREAD | What book is purely fluff, and has no real plot line?
I will have to say Confessions of a Shopaholic and similar books. Ok this book has a plot but for me this book and anything similar is a fluff read, especially after a long heavy read.
TURKEY | What book made you want to fall asleep?
Annihilation, I’d heard good things about this and a few family members had suggested it, and I had such high hopes for it especially as the people who recommend it have similar taste in books. But I did literally fall asleep reading this book. the Netflix move is slightly better than the book but even while watching that one night I fell asleep. You can read my review for this book here.
GRAVY | What book makes the whole series worth reading?
This is a hard one as I haven’t really read many series recently. But from the ones I’ve read previously I choose Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. This was my favourite book in the series. It’s been years since I’ve read these, but I remember borrowing these from my cousin and finishing the whole series within 2 weeks.
STUFFING | What book is stuffed full of action scenes?
Another hard one to answer, there are just so many I could list. But at the moment I going through a phase of reading a lot of YA so I’m going to say The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Another book series I read years ago.
MASHED POTATOES | What book looked good, and then wasn’t?
There are a few I could list here. But the one that came mind straight away was 2666 by Roberto Bolaño.
CRANBERRIES | What book has the sweetest romance?
I don’t really read romance books but the sweetest romance I have I come across would have to be between Lou Clark and Will Trainer from Me Before You.
CORN | What’s the corniest book you’ve ever read?
For this one I’m going to choose Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined by Stephenie Meyer. I loved reading the Twilight series back in the days, but this book I couldn’t stop rolling my eyes while reading, you can read my review of this book here.
GREEN BEANS | What book is too long and needs to be shortened?
There are a few but I’m going to have to say A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. I read this book when it first came out. Although I really enjoyed reading this one, it was way too long.
PUMPKIN PIE | What book do you read to get out of a reading slump?
I’ve only reread 2 books that are on my shelves and they are Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, IT by Stephen King.
DOG/CAT | What’s your favourite Thanksgiving food that you would steal from the table?
We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK, but I would choose something, it would have to be roast/mash potatoes covered with Gravy.
I’m tagging everyone that reads this post because I am thankful to have meet and gotten to know you all in the supporting bookish community!!!
