First Lines Friday – 19th October 2018

Here’s my “First Lines Fridays” this is a weekly meme, that I first saw on Jill’s Book Blog and which is originally hosted by Wondering Words.

Rules:

  1. Choose a book from your shelves/current read
  2. Open the book to the first page
  3. Copy the first line on the page, making sure you don’t give away the book title
  4. Reveal the book.

FIRST LINES:

“So, did you choose this because it was a nice, skinny hundred and seventy-eight pages, or ‘cos you’d seen the film?

It’s a film?”

Do you recognise which book these lines come from?

This weeks book is… The Reading Group by Elizabeth Noble

1474397

Synopsis/Blurb (taken from Goodreads):

“A group of friends, a few bottles of wine and a good book. What could be better? The women who form the Reading Group are as varied as the books they choose to read. But each has secret hopes and fears – for a new lover; a straying husband; an ailing mother; a tearaway teenager. Can they find the answers to life’s problems in the pages of a good book?”

Have you read this book? How did you find it?
