Mini Book Reviews – July 2018

Here are some Mini Reviews of books that I have read this month.

I would like to thank NetGalley and the publishers for a copy of the books in return for an unbiased review.

Rescue Vehicles by Janet Slingerland

My Rating: 💙💙💙 (Liked it)

Format: Digital Review Copy (Ebook)

Publisher: Norwood House Press

Genre: Children’s Nonfiction

My Review:

Simple but effective book. Read it with my nephew who is mad about rescue vehicles.  He loved looking at the pictures and talking about all the different things that he could see in the vehicles. He was fascinated by how the vehicles in the book looked different to those that we have here in the UK. His favourite was the fire truck.

My Review:

Personally loved this book. The pictures of the animals are so cute. I read this book to my nephew and he really enjoyed it. Usually he struggles to sit still when read together but he was really engaged with this book. He managed to sit to the end. We read it 3 times before I had to say “that’s enough for today”.  He was really happy that he could recognise most of the animals.

The book is great for teaching little ones about the concept of big and small. It also teaches them that it doesn’t matter if things are different. Definitely will be recommending to me friends who work with little ones.

My Review:

Absolutely loved this book, there is so much information about different bugs and how to find them. it also has great ideas on how to make your own equipment so you don’t have to spend lots of money buying expensive equipment. There are some great activities for children of all ages,

I will be trying some of the activities out during the summer holidays with my nephew, as he likes looking for bugs.

Definitely worth having a copy if you have children or even work with children.
